Maribou State - Otherside ft. Holly Walker | Music Video of the Week

"Otherside" by Maribou State ft. Holly Walker, directed by NYSU.

The video is set in an office building, where themes of emotional displacement and inner turmoil unfold through striking visual storytelling. Towering glass partitions and shifting clocks amplify the sense of tension and disconnection, transforming a familiar corporate setting into a symbol of internal struggle.

Holly Walker moves through the chaos as office workers argue and papers swirl through the air, their disarray mirroring the emotional turbulence of the song. The video blurs the line between reality and metaphor, using the fractured office environment to emphasise feelings of frustration and isolation.

A standout feature is the use of window frames as a visual device. Each transition through the window borders shifts the scene, reflecting the ever-changing nature of perspective.

"Otherside" explores the feeling of being stuck, with a glimmer of hope beneath the surface. The shifting spaces in the video echo the sense of longing, suggesting that even when we feel trapped, the chance for change is still within reach.
